Bengaluru: More than 43.82 lakh notices have been delivered to electors so far in the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls, the CEO office said on Friday.
The Election Commission also received 1,55,109 Form 7 applications between June 16 and October 15, the office said. None of them was an objection to a proposed inclusion, which means all sought deletion of names.
Form 7 is the application used to object to the proposed inclusion of a name in the electoral roll, or to seek deletion of a name from it.
Officials said the notices were issued to electors whose names fall under the ‘no mapping’ and ‘anomalies’ categories.
As of October 16, Karnataka has 4,54,03,198 electors, comprising 2.25 crore male, 2.28 crore female and 2,860 transgender electors, the Chief Electoral Officer's office said in a statement.
It said 43,82,824 notices had been generated and delivered across the state. Hearings have been completed in 43,63,459 cases (99.56 per cent) of the notices delivered, while 19,365 are pending. The last date for disposal of claims and objections and the notice phase is October 22.

District-wise data showed that Bangalore Urban received the highest number of Form 7 applications (11,782), followed by BBMP North (9,274) and Dakshina Kannada (9,101).
The CEO's office reiterated that Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) have been directed to act under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, against applicants who knowingly made false statements or declarations in writing in Form 6, 6A, 7 or 8. The action will follow an inquiry under Rule 20 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
The final electoral roll will be published on October 27, as per the SIR-2026 schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the office added.
